Yahoo Attacks Google on Usability
“Google is ruled by engineers, but they make for a lousy target audience because they will try any new application that has a blinking light and makes rattling sounds. The challenge is to get to the masses.”
Yahoo to Google: It’s usability, stupid!

He may be right about the Web 2.0 apps, with things like the new Yahoo! maps being a notable example in my book, but it’s interesting to me that neither side has done much to develop the usability of their search engine results pages. In fact, given the advertising push, the usability of both Yahoo! and Google’s search results has probably gotten quite a bit worse over the past few years.

Dr. Pete… your comments about the usability of Yahoo and Google search result pages are interesting.
I was wondering; What is it about these pages that you don’t feel is usable. What should they work on to improve this?
Not disagreeing, just curious as to what you have picked up on.
