Gmail Not Really Free

Free Google GMail; The high price you pay — “GMail is free to use, but its users are actually selling themselves cheap; Google furthers its monetization of the world’s information by acquiring, cost-free, a treasure trove of personal and business communications data from its users. GMail users, however, are not being compensated by Google for its profiting from the mining of their data.”
This is such lame argument. People are getting something from Google: email. It isn’t free but many people don’t mind the tradeoff. People use services all the time that are “free” but not free. They are willing to give up a lot of information for goodie bags, free t-shirts, and other handouts. It is safe to move along. No little monkies have been harmed.

One Response
I am a proud Gmail user. Never worrying about email size, incredibly fast reply (powered by AJAX, a technology often used by Google), Web Clips,
automatic forwarding, one button – click search, advanced filters, labels and not folders, message preview, automatic refresh, auto-save messages,as-good-as-yahoomail spam filters, not one executable to be sent or received, feeling of having a different technology? A definite recommendation for
anyone that reads more than one email per day.
Have you tried Gmail? If yes, what's your taste on it? Why do you love it/hate it?
