Drugs, Chemicals, and Sports

I need some help.
Does it bother you that athletes use peformance enhancing drugs? Does doping bother you? Be honest.
Now that you have worked through that exercise please explain the difference between “steroids” and cortisone. To make it easier, explain the difference between Mark McGuire and Giambi.

The doping idea and the idea of drug test are absurdous, in my opinion. just the way to exclude some sportsmen.
What I’m unable to understand is that many athletes suddenly get caught, after years of their being “on the field”…does it mean that they had started using the banned drugs suddenly, or does it mean that though they had used the drugs earlier the tests were not efficient earlier?
And it is also quite likely that if an athlete gets a real bright coach who has access to the best chemistry minds, maybe they can figure out ways of not being caught?
