Rent The World
I think it would be interesting to be able to easily (and I mean EASILY) rent more stuff. Why own so much stuff? What good is ownership really? Think about it! Renting a car might just be the start. What else can we rent on a very short term basis? It is already done with DVDs. What else can we rent, folks? Cell phones? Media devices? Cameras? Clothing? I’m serious about this.

eBay is essentially just that for me. The main differences are that eBay is for medium-term rental rather than short-term, and eBay doesn’t cost as much as traditional rental.
Anything I want to try out (a new lens for my camera, an audio book, a computer reference book, a DVD, a computer game, etc), I can usually buy on eBay for a reasonable price. After I’ve used it for a while and no longer want to keep it, I list it back on eBay for sale. I often get back close to what I paid for the item originally, and occasionally make a little profit.
