    Here in the UK, the government has tried to stop the increasing use of mobile phones whilst driving by making it a punishable offense (see BBC article here). This is fine in theory but the amount of road-users I see daily still using their mobiles is astonishing, the police seem powerless (or simply not interested enough) to deal with the problem.

    Worse still are those drivers who stop virtually instantly in order to answer their phone. This in my opinion is an even more dangerous practise than the one the law set out to stop in the first place!
