Vacation Breakfast Experience
I’m eating Quaker Oh!s right now. They taste pretty good (suger death bombs) but they are leaving this strange scum or film in my mouth. Sort of hard to explain, but I have experienced it before. You probably have too.
What is nice about vacation is that it allows your mind to be free for a little while. My mind is still all wrapped up in a knot, but it is coming apart slowly. Oh, wait. My mind is coming apart?
On a different topic, what is your favorite vacation memory? More importantly why is it your favorite vacation memory? Was it the people or the place that made the difference? (Think about how your choice is related to the usability of other experiences you have day to day!)

What’s a vacation?

Europe for its architecture, foods and history. Specifically France. Also the Greek Islands for pure relaxation and the old cities.

Do you think it takes a certain amount of time to unwind on a holiday? 2 days, 1 week, 10 days? How long does it usually take to really relax? Does it depend on the holiday? Does it depend on the location? Does it depend who you are with?

I think my favourite vacation so far was England recently because I got to stay with my parents and drive their car and I worked a bit every day. However, another memory I love is going to Portugal when I was young. It was a lovely trip because the country is so beautiful and it helped me get over a boyfriend I’d just broken up with. I also didn’t have to worry about money back then either.

Best vacation was backcountry skiing in British Columbia. A small 5-star lodge accessible only by helicoptor (or a days hike - but not in winter) with a friendly staff and an excellent chef. The place was amazing, the people wonderful, and our basic needs taken care of. There’s nothing like coming in from an afternoon of skiing to warm appetizers followed by a fantastic meal!
That was a case of truly getting away from it all. You couldn’t help but leave work and home behind.

I know this: It is extremely rare that I take enough time off.
On a related the topic of insane vacation stories, I was talking to a guy that actually missed his honeymoon (!) because he was too busy working. Furthermore, he’s never taken off more than 1 week from work. Nuts!!
