Usability in the Trenches -- Today I spoke with one of my colleagues about some usability testing that we conducted recently. He ran a session on Halloween and a few days ago he had a chance to review the tapes. Apparently, he set up the video camera and started taping without any problems. But, he did not know that the video camera was inserting the words "Happy Halloween" in huge white letters over the regular picture for the duration of the session. It is too late to get rid of this noise. Fortunately, we can still use the data.
