An Open Letter to Adobe (Web Review) -- "I use an offbrand browser and refuse to open my browser window to more than about 640x480 pixels of my precious screen space. I suppress the loading of images whose URLs or dimensions suggest that they are ads. I dismiss, before it finishes loading, any window that I didn't directly open. I don't let animations run. Sometimes I turn off graphics entirely. I am, in short, no fun."

I also have some usability problems with their Photoshop software. Two of the most annoying things I have to deal with both keyboard-related (I use the keyboard very heavily).

The "Copy Merged" function's supposed to copy a selection across all visible layers. Unfortunately, it only works when I'm workin' on a visible layer. So when I use the shorcut (Ctrl-Shift-C) on an invisible layer, there's no audio feedback telling me that the selection has not been copied. Consequently, when I need to paste the selection, nothing happens, or the wrong selection gets pasted.

Another gripe concerns getting to the application's menu using the Alt key when the application is busy. I use Alt-F (File) often to save the file. But when I do it when the app's busy, it remembers that I pressed the F key but ignores that I pressed the Alt key. Consequently, when the app ceases to be busy, it jumps into fullscreen mode (that's what the F key does) rather than going to the file menu.

Freakin' annoying.
