Problems with new Hotmail Design? (CHI WEB) -- "In my experience the users response to tabs should urge UI-designers to be cautious with the use of this graphic tool. My point is that the use of tabs should be a "logical" means to display the underlying architecture of the site and not a way to discriminate different levels of information."

it sucks. it really does. the page is now graphics-intensive, when it doesnt need to be. look at the old site - virtually no unecessary graphics. They have definitely taken a leap back.
